The Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM is a full-frame short-telephoto prime for Canon EOS R system cameras. It blends flattering 85mm portrait perspective with half life-size macro capability and optical image stabilisation.

Top Features

Bright f/2 Aperture
A fast f/2 aperture produces a shallow depth of field and smooth, creamy background blur that flatters portrait subjects, stopping down to f/29.

85mm Portrait Focal Length
The 85mm short-telephoto focal length gives a natural, flattering portrait perspective with pleasing compression on full-frame EOS R cameras.

Half Life-Size Macro
Focuses as close as 0.35m for 0.5x (1:2) half life-size macro, capturing fine detail in flowers, food and small products.

Optical Image Stabilisation
In-lens Optical IS delivers up to 5 stops of shake correction for sharp handheld portraits and close-ups in lower light.

STM Autofocus
A smooth, near-silent STM stepping motor focuses quickly and quietly, making it equally suited to stills and video.

Optical Design
Twelve elements in eleven groups with a 9-blade circular diaphragm control aberrations and render smooth, rounded background bokeh.

Customisable Control Ring
A dedicated control ring can be assigned to aperture, ISO, shutter speed or exposure compensation for fast, tactile adjustments.

Compact and Light
Compact and light at about 500g with a 67mm filter thread, it is easy to carry for portraits and everyday shooting.
